There was a renowned name that graced West Coast rave flyers for well over 35 years; from the era of map-points and renegade desert happenings to sanctioned festivals hugging the SoCal coast… and that name was MARK E QUARK.

Over those learned years, he performed alongside musical icons such as Deee-Lite, Aphex Twin, Juan Atkins, Moby, Lil Louie Vega, and the beloved Wicked crew. He was an undeniable and pivotal force behind the legendary long-running events that helped lay the foundation for rave’s golden era; SOMA, Playskool, The Gathering, Basics, Stompy, and Sunset Sound System.

To put it simply, MARK E QUARK brought veritable credibility to anything he lent his affiliation. With taste both comprehensive and impeccable, his Midas touch behind the console was always something to behold; flexing a penchant for putting songs, beats, and lyrics together in ways that left listeners starry-eyed and fiercely devoted. While drawing from his early influences of Industrial music, Acid House, and Belgian New Beat, he consistently kept a finger on the pulse of an ever-expanding sound and energy.

On April 26, we were honored to host this mesmerizing master of the dancefloor. Mark delivered exactly what generations of dancers had come to love him for: deep musical knowledge, effortless style, and a rare ability to connect the past, present, and future of dance music in a single set.

Some nights leave a mark long after the lights come up and the speakers fall silent. This was one of them. We are deeply grateful to have welcomed Mark into the Klipsch chamber and to now share this slice of dancefloor history with all of you.
