This Halloween, we return to celebrate our favorite tradition — Dead Musicians — where the living pay tribute to the legends who came before. Come as your favorite departed artist, from Prince to Phyllis Hyman, Bowie to Aaliyah, Cobain to Coltrane - we open the gates for a special night of spirits and sound — with Daniel T headlining the dance and Bilal setting the tone early. A night to celebrate the living, honor the ghosts of grooves past, and lose ourselves together under the spell of music and moonlight.

Bilal, known affectionately as Bilaliwood, begins the evening with a steady hand and a mischievous grin. His journey started on a dancefloor back in 2008 — a friendship, a few borrowed turntables, and a hunger for the perfect record. His sets still carry that same spark of discovery: rooted in Chicago and Detroit house, bending into modern acid, and taking unexpected turns that keep you smiling — maybe even a sly nod to Phil Collins when you least expect it. Bilal brings warmth and joy wherever he plays, setting the tone with that rare balance of precision and play.

Headlining the night is Daniel T, a cornerstone of Los Angeles’ underground whose sound drifts effortlessly between disco, funk, post-punk, and sun-kissed pop. As one half of Cosmic Kids, Daniel helped shape the city’s cosmic house lineage through releases on DFA and Let’s Play House. Later, his Heat-Wave parties became a beacon for LA’s dance community, a celebration of connection and groove. With his radio shows on Dublab (Crosseyed & Painless) and NTS (Tuff Shed), Daniel continues to dig deep — finding light in every dusty groove. He first played The Basement during lockdown, when our floor was silent. Now, he returns to raise the spirits once more — this time before a living, breathing crowd.

 Saturday, October 25th, the veil lifts, the ghosts groove, and the music plays on. Step into costume, step into character — and step into The Basement.
