JULIET MENDOZA began her pursuit of rhythms on the club floor by mastering her steps in dance circles at Arena and Carnival, and astutely moving into event promotion, ultimately with the gestation of her own reknowned club night— Jill’s House. But as this Afro-Latina dancer grew within the scene, she took on an adept ability to select and deliver sweltering mixes for dancers as shrewd as herself, and divined how to keep them locked in dance unison. She delivers soulful and deeply succinct sets, merging energies from classic and modern sounds to uplift the floor to its limits. In recent years, JULIET has also stepped in to her own productions, now having released on the legendary NYC label, Nu Groove. She was chosen by Defected Records as an Unsung Hero and joined their prestigious crew on stages around the world. She now has shared decks with Hot Since 82, Marques Wyatt, Riva Starr, Colette, Dj Heather, and Peggy Gou— and she continues to authentically rep her hometown, her heritage, and her deep roots; always with resounding energy that is House in its fundamental essence— a true and living ambassador of the herstoric culture she breathes to embrace and wrap herself within.

And on big boogie opening duty, we have enlisted Dublab’s very own MAMABEAR, who’s roots click back to the hip-hop and funk of the roller rink intermingled with echoes of New Wave from her parents record collection. During her stint in SF, MAMABEAR became part of the Sweaterfunk DJ crew, where she played alongside the likes of Dam-Funk and Peanutbutter Wolf, as well as legends of boogie, Leroy Burgess and Steve Arrington. Expect to hear an eclectic dose of vinyl dance-infused wonders as she sparks the vibe and we set our sites on sunrise…
