Join us in The Basement for a night rooted in deep house, global dance music history, and the kind of room-reading that turns a set into a journey. From the basement clubs of Hamburg to dance floors across six continents, Lars Behrenroth has spent three decades shaping the sound and spirit of house music. Known for his deeply intuitive sets, Lars has moved rooms at Djoon in Paris, Stereo in Montreal, Distillery in Leipzig, and throughout South Africa, where he was named Best International DJ at the South African Dance Music Awards in 2017.

His long-running radio program, Deeper Shades of House, is now in its 24th year with over 930 episodes and nearly a quarter million monthly listeners. As a producer and remixer, his work spans Freerange, Compost, Sonar Kollektiv, Beyoncé, Robert Owens, and Black Coffee. LARS BEHRENROTH is not merely a participant in the story of dance music. He is one of its quiet architects. His path brings him to the Basement for the first time, and we’re looking forward to what unfolds.

Before we get there, the floor must be prepared.

Club der Visionaere, Rhonda, Secret Project… each appearance leaving a different kind of imprint. His sound doesn’t sit still. It bends, stretches, slips between genres without asking permission.

Releases on Palm Recs and SG Lewis’ Forever Days, remixes touching Motown and Unidisc, support from heads who know… Harvey, Peggy Gou, Jamie Jones. But beyond the decks, he builds worlds. Expression. Visual collaborations. Something deeper than just music.
