For this last Basement of the year and ushering in the next, we have called upon the truly magnetic and trusted prowess of an iconic local and absolute relentless master of ceremonies… THEE MIKE B!!! From the makeshift rave spaces of the late-90s to the fluorescent frenzy of Hollywood clubs and the current must-hit after parties he habitually invokes today, THEE MIKE B is an unwavering cornerstone of the West Coast nightlife sound.

As a native Angelino, Mike Brillstein grew up digging across all music; Baltimore club, UK garage, and anything that compelled the crowd. During his late 90’s stint in NY, he sharpened his chops alongside the genre-bending master himself, Stretch Armstrong, but it was his return home that left a permanent mark on Los Angeles, when In 2006, alongside DJ AM, he launched Banana Split Sundays: a free, all inclusive jam that rejected VIP elitism and rewired Hollywood’s nightlife. The party helped spotlight then-unknown talents (the likes of Lady Gaga) and transformed the nightclub into a breeding ground for the new electronic age. Known as a veritable “multi-genre purist,” THEE MIKE B has handled stages at Coachella, Portola, and HARD— but his natural habitat will always be LA’s local dance floors. He’s still operating at maximum strength — sharing a monthly with DJ Sneak at Club Tee Gee, and dropping his infectious La Boix Edits to salivating listeners.

Now, more than 25 years in, THEE MIKE B is undoubtedly the dancefloor’s favorite, and continues to make Los Angeles dancing stronger, sweatier, and more joyfully unfiltered… We are beside ourselves as we electrically anticipate a true architect of this city’s after-hours identity.

And to tip off the night, our hearts are bursting with joy, to proudly present to the helm, a key figure in the incarnation of The Basement in it’s concept and practice since 2018– our very own beloved and adored KELLY KEL… Don’t miss the birthday girl as she makes her debut at the decks!

On Saturday, December 27th, we welcome Kelly Kel and THEE Mike B to the chamber. We recommend  you arrive early and take it all in for the last Basement dance of the year.
