We have a soft spot for DJs who are always digging. Not for the obvious record, but for the one that catches everyone off guard in the best possible way.

On July 25, The Basement welcomes two selectors who have spent decades collecting music, chasing unforgettable dance floors, and becoming the kind of DJs that other DJs come to hear.

Headlining the night is Mondo Nexus, a devoted record digger whose path began with all vinyl dance parties in Iowa before leading him to San Francisco and a residency with the beloved DAD SF collective. His shelves are packed with Disco, Italo, House, Techno, Balearic, and plenty of records that refuse to fit neatly into any one category.

His gift isn't just finding great music. It's knowing exactly when to play it. Patient, unpredictable, and always listening to the room, Mondo has a knack for turning unfamiliar records into everyone's new favorite tune.

Setting the tone for the night is evoL_WvL, whose journey began in the warehouse raves and underground clubs of the early 90s before winding through Atlanta, San Francisco, Montreal, Los Angeles, Puerto Rico, and now back to the community where it all started. Along the way she soaked up inspiration from the legendary Earthtone Soundsystem crew, the iconic DiY Soundsystem, and countless late nights that shaped her unmistakable sound.

Expect a set that slips effortlessly between downtempo, trip hop, dreamy Balearic, indie left field house, breaks, electro, and deep rolling basslines. After nearly three decades behind the decks, she knows the best journeys are never rushed. They're discovered one record at a time.

Two selectors. Plenty of wax. One Klipsch chamber.
